Thanks everyone for all your great suggestions!
Has anyone tried a bathing suit like this or this?
I am worried about her getting a sunburn. And what is everyone's favorite sunscreen? I have some California Baby sunscreen that I bought last fall for 75% off (sorry, I'm not paying $17.95 for 3 ounces of sunscreen, especially when I'll be slathering her every 1/2 hour or so!)
Ideas to get her to keep her sunglasses and hat on? I know mom is getting her some of these. She's not a big fan of hats!
I can't WAIT - she is going to be so cute :)

We have those same sunglasses but good luck keeping them on. They sell them at Target. Find a hat with a strap on it so it will stay on better and are less likely to mess with it.
I would also suggest a bathing suit with the swim diaper included. Since she is allergic to disposables.
Quinn does have a rash guard and bottoms and they work really well.
Something that is really easy to pack and is portable is a portable sunshade. We bought it at Target last year and it folds up really small and then pops open when you use it. Instead of renting or buying an umbrella for her.
Where and when are you guys going?? We are at the beach now but we are going to Myrtle Beach in the middle of May.
I have other tips and suggestions if you want them we go to the beach quite often.
Thanks Megan! We'd love all your suggestions since we've never been to the beach before!
Aren't you coming back up here in May? I'm so sorry I'm slacking on the quilt I owe you! I will try to get it done within a week :)
For me, a hat is non-negotiable. I have one that ties under the chin and I knot it. Sunglasses are a waste of time, in my opinion. I don't know any babies who like them!
We just slather on the sunscreen all the time and have never had a problem. I just get the baby version of Coppertone or whatever. It's SPF 50.
I like the first suit.
The second one looks too Mormon, with apologies to the Mormons.
As for Mary, she's WAY too fair to be anywhere near the sun.
No, no, no.
:)
My babies always wore one piece suits like those - we really liked them. With young kids, I generally tried to avoid taking them outside during the really sunny parts of the day - between 11 and 3 - and I've really always like Coppertone's baby sunblock, which is also affordable.
Yep we are still hopefully coming up in May or even June now not quite sure exactly when yet.
No rush on the blanket I can always get it when we come up next.
I'll email you soon with all my suggestions and things I have to think about them.
