First day of first grade!
M was so excited about starting first grade we went ahead and started this past Monday. I had everything ready to go so I figured we'd try the balanced schedule that a lot of schools are following around here. The first 3 days have been great! We are loosely following Mother of Divine Grace again with some additions. We started Miquon math orange book, we are continuing with modg poetry, religion and art, Getty dubay handwriting, story of the world for history (ancient times), Kids Nature book (and various encyclopedias) for science, then all kinds of literature including Aesop's fables, fairy tales, and classics like Robin Hood, Secret Garden etc. I'm really excited about this year and so is she! Jp is doing reading lessons and so far so good!

Your kids are so blessed, woman!! I love this.
How fun! We are starting school this coming Monday- ready or not! ;) And I'm super excited about it- getting our school supplies in the mail was like Christmas! We use a lot of CHC stuff, but we are also doing some Apologia science and Classically Catholic Memory (which I was initially terrified of, but now that I have the materials I think it is going to be brilliant)! Both of those 2 things we will be doing in a co-op though. So exciting!
We're going to read Robin Hood too this year! It sounds like you have a great set-up. We are easing back in this week as well. Our hourse is just calmer when we have a set school time. :-)
Looks to be a great year!
Great job! May the Lord bless you richly during this school year, as you and M dive in to all this "fun stuff" together!
My M started first grade this year as well, and she's loving it! We stick with the MODG syllabus, and add Classically Catholic Memory (alpha year) as some additional memory work.
