Day 2

I could totally get used to this! Although someone (with no kids) tried to give me advice on socialization today and that annoyed me.

We are having so much fun!

Next time just tell them you have an SLP on speed dial and she says we are doing great ;-)

Tell me what you're doing with those blocks! Looks like a good visual for... can't quite figure out what she's looking at in the book.

And socialization... LOL. I've heard the best response to "What about socialization?" is to ask, "Oh, do you mean good socialization, or bad socialization?" After all, school can be a bit "Lord of the Flies"...

Oh please share her expert advice. I'm dying to know!

She said to make sure my kids interact with other kids. Because you know, I keep em locked up all day.

Oh and the blocks! Our book for the week is Lentil by Robert McClosky. We were recreating the small town in the book with blocks. Five in a row is awesome!

We loved Five in a Row, too. Lentil - great start! We LOVED "How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World," in Sept or Oct. Is that in that book or another edition? I borrowed that book from a friend but I should buy it for when the other kids are old enough.

Socialization??? Who the heck wants other people's kids socializing your kids without your supervision?? In fact, this is my one and only reason that I would WANT to home school, because I could observe my kids interactions with other kids and step in when their socialization is inappropriate.
