Madeleine at the eye doctor

I took Madeleine to a follow up eye doctor appointment today, for her eye muscle problem. It doesn't seem to be getting any better after a year of treatment, so she mentioned that surgery -loosening of her eye muscles, might be needed. We are to continue her treatment for 4 more weeks, then off for 3 weeks, then come back and she'll check her again. I really hope she doesn't need surgery, although the doctor said it was pretty easy, no needles, only takes about 45 minutes, and the only restriction is no swimming for two days.

She really had a great time and even asked if we could go back and get her eyes checked tomorrow!

What big girl.

Lots and lots of prayers that the eye drops will work and surgery wont be needed.

Love you guys!

My daughter had three eye muscle surgeries (on both eyes) when she was little. It was not bad at all. She's now fifteen and all is well! I will pray that you have clarity on what to do!

She looks like such a big girl sitting in that chair...It's almost a glimpse into the future! ;)

She does look like such a sweet young lady in that big chair! Hoping that her eye muscles heal.

She is a doll! My niece (3) just had an appt to check out her eyes today.
I had eye surgery when I was young. The anesthesia makes me pretty nauseated and it is always worse with eye surgery. I didn't like have to put cold on my eye every so many hours either, but I survived. The bummer was I needed another surgery. Ended up having 4! I think it is worth asking the odds that this will fix the problem in one try. Each made my eyes better, but needed readjusting. Not trying to scare you, but wanting you to be aware more surgeries are a possibility. In hindsight, I am glad my eyes are cosmetically straight now and not sure why the heck it took so long (we didn't use the same surgeone every time...) Feel free to email me if you have questions and I will try to remember.

We had eye surgery on one of our kiddos and I was very happy to find that it was a very quick recovery and a very easy surgery!
