Top 10 list Part 2

Top 10 reasons why I'm glad I went to Orlando.

10. Getting out of the house is nice every once in a while. It was a nice change of pace from our normal stay at home routine. I love staying at home of course, but sometimes it's nice to shake things up a bit!

9. It's really hard to pass up free airline tickets and a free hotel room in one of the nicest hotels I've ever been in!

They had gators and turtles and fish in the hotel! Madeleine was in heaven!

And it was all decked out for Christmas!

8. The weather was awesome. I mean it was absolutely perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, great for swimming. Coming from November in Indiana to 80 degree weather is pretty nice.

7. The pool! It was fabulous! I love love love watching my kids swim. It was only John Paul's second or third time and he absolutely loved it. He splashed and splashed. Madeleine could float around by herself in her little get-up. She squealed with delight and loved the octopus slide and the giant seahorses squirting water.

6. The splash park. Lots of waterfalls and things to climb on - water and climbing are two of her favorite things! It was so much fun to watch her.

5. Ken thinks it was a good experience for Madeleine. She got stimulated because of being out of our normal routine, had some new experiences, got to sleep in a different place, do lots of puzzles, and he thinks her vocabulary is even better now than it was before.

4. The breakfast buffet. Oh. My. Goodness was it fabulous. I love breakfast food so we splurged one day and did it. I think I went back 3 times and we stayed there for a few hours :) Also the rest of the food - the coffee shop was great, the pizza hit the spot, sushi was wonderful, and D bought us sandwich stuff and chips for lunch so we could save money.

3. Hanging out with D and having some girl time. Especially hanging out on her bed eating sushi and having drinks. The drinks should have their own number on this list! I especially enjoyed my pina coladas in the hot tub. Oh yeah the hot tub should have it's own number too! Or as Madeleine calls it, the "tiny ocean."

2. I am proud of myself for doing it by myself! I got a new level of confidence as a mother. Sure it was hard, but it was definitely worth it. It was really funny watching people's reactions when they said, "Are you traveling with BOTH of them ALONE??" and I said "yep!"

1. My kids getting bonding time with D. They absolutely adore her and she is going to be a fantastic mother!

The trip was definitely worth it! It was so fun and I'd go back tomorrow if I could :) Maybe with Ken this time!

If you want to see more pics of the trip go here.

It is a pretty big accomplishment to make that trip SOLO. I don't think I would ever make that trip by plane. Car, I might consider, but plane? No way...

You are to be heartily congratulated!!!

Wow this post really takes me back!!!

This was, by far, one of the best times I've ever had with a friend. Honestly, you are - for sure - along with JP and M (and Ken of course) - one of my most treasured friendships ever. I always have so much fun hanging out with you guys!!!

I had a lot of fun with your babes, I can only imagine how great it will be when I have my own!!

I wish we were all back in that hot tub right now. Its chilly out !!!
