This morning, Madeleine was in bed with us and Ken got up to take a shower. She was awake, but he had put a pillow on his side of the bed. I was kind of dozing off, and then I heard a big thud - she fell off the bed! I grabbed her immediately and she just started talking and smiling. She didn't even cry at all. But I felt horrible! Poor thing. I had heard lots of stories of this happening, but of course never thought it would happen to us. I told Ava's mom this morning and she said, "Oh I've done that hundreds of times." That made me feel a little better. Am I a horrible mom or what?!
In other, much better news, Ken got a nice bonus and a great compliment from his boss. He said that he was doing a great job and really deserved it. Congratulations Ken! And now we can pay off some credit cards and get a stove that isn't older than me :)

Ooooh, I'm just glad she's okay.
(No, you're not a bad mother. You know my wacky child-injuring story. Poopoo happens.)
;)
CONGRATS, KEN!!!
OK, here's my bad mom story... the same thing happened to my 5th child when he was around 9 mths or so (still crawling, that is) and he broke his collar bone.
I felt like the world's worst mom. I cried all the way to the hospital.
When I got there (and they confirmed that it was broken) they told me two things:
--can't do anything about it, and it will heal quickly (the kid was crawling on it the SAME DAY!!)
--this happens ALL THE TIME. Most common reason is during birth. Second most common reason is falling off the bed.
NO! Your not a bad mom at all! I'm glad Madeleine is fine! Yeah Ken on that bonus!!!
That definitely happens to all of us at some point. Sounds like she was not bothered at all. And yay for bonuses.
Sorry to hear about the tumble, it does happen once in a while. Glad she is ok! Congrats on the bonus Ken!
Glad to hear she was fine!
Congratulations on that bonus! Especially this time of year!
Terrible mother.
HA! you know I am kidding. Love ya!
Every single one of us has a story like that. No worries.
it does happen a lot but you feel soooo terrible. and worse if they cry! maggie did it at 6 months and cried and cried, mostly b/c it startled her i think. congrats on the bounus, ken and yay for a new stove!
