Highlights of the weekend

We went on our first hike! I strapped her on and we went hiking in a local park. The trails are not bad at all, and the weather was perfect. We saw a beautiful little creek, lots of flowers and plants, and got some good fresh air. I got quite the workout carrying this kid around too! Any guesses on how much she weighs? We go for her six month checkup on Friday. She was 14 lbs 2 oz at her 4 month. I am guessing she is over 16 now.

Madeleine really enjoyed it - she kicked and waved her arms the whole time. We are going to have to do this more often.
Does her hair look red in this picture?
We also hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's house, went swimming and had a cookout. They have an exersaucer with different toys than ours - she was excited!
We got some good house and garage cleaning done, I mowed the lawn, Ken organized the shed, and I hung up all the 9 month clothes on one side of her closet, and the 12 month stuff on the other. We also bought a baby food cookbook and a food steamer. Sweet potatoes are on the menu for this week!

Michelle has the same exersaucer at her house and it's way cooler than the one I own. Maggie plays in it when we go over. Mine sucks. I am guessing 17 lbs for the next weigh in! And cool you are making your own baby food! You are such a good mommy@

Sounds like a great weekend! Someday....when i get married and prego, will you get me one of those wraps like that for my baby shower? That looks like it works so well and I don't know anyone else who uses them. Looks like you had a great holiday weekend with lots of family time!

Brenda, I'm either a good mommy or a cheap mommy. I'll never tell.

Lori - I will absolutely get you one and show you ALL the ways to wear it. She feels so light in it too - I can go for an hour long hike without too much trouble :)
I'm also going to get you a ring sling and a hooter hider :)

Thanks Beth! You are the greatest! BTW, I saw Valorie this weekend and she makes all her cloth diapers for Emma. You should contact her because she will probably make you some for cheaper than you can buy them online.

Those are gorgeous pictures, Beth - I love the expression on Madeleine's face. (And by the way, my name's Elizabeth too - Lizzy to family, Liz to friends. :¬))

She gets cuter by the day. Seriously.

I would like to pick her up and squeeze her.

Let me know how the food thing works out - I just haven't gotten around to it, but I did get a set of those "cubes" for freezing stuff.

What a precious little one! I had one of those wraps for my youngest when he was a baby and wondered how I made it through the other 7 without one! Way to go on the homemade baby food!!
