Update (don't get too excited.)

I read this post on Danielle's blog about offering up suffering. One person commented that when they are in labor, they have a list of intentions and have their husband read one intention to them right before a contraction starts, and they offer it up for that. I thought that was a fantastic idea so I'm going to try it. They said they start out with "easy" ones and end up with harder ones as the contractions get harder.

So does anyone have anything or anyone they want me to pray for? I'll add your intentions to the list. I'm sure I'll have plenty of contractions to go around ;-)

Also, today it's supposed to be in the 50s - one of the nicest days we've had for a while. So Mom and I are going to take a walk on the Monon trail when Ava wakes up, and try to get things "moving along" so to speak. Also, I installed the carseat base in the van so we are all set - as long as we remember the actual carseat....

That is a fantastic idea. I have some friends who need a lot of prayers for their marriage. Thanks for doing this.

Oh what a great idea! I'm going to do that too (when my time gets here)!
Please pray for Charles to be a healthy holy boy who never ever leaves the Church - heck, while you're at it why don't you just pray that God bless him with a religious vocation!! :o)

How generous of you, Beth. Would you offer one of your contractions for my brothers? Thank you.

So excited for you!

It is such a generous offer, but a warning. My Dr. is Catholic and he shared with me about a patient who was having an unusually difficult labor, she finally told him that she was offering up her suffering for a certain intention, he begged her to stop and told her she'd offered up enough. She finally agreed and then the labor eased and the baby was born. I still think it is a marvelous story of how God participates with us as the new lives are born into this world!
